Vertigo Treatment in South Surrey

Vertigo is the false sensation that you or the world around you is spinning or moving.

What it is

Understanding vertigo treatment

Vertigo is the false sensation that you or the world around you is spinning or moving. It most often comes from the vestibular system of the inner ear — and the most common cause, BPPV, is also one of the most treatable concerns we see.

Common symptoms

  • A spinning sensation, especially with head movements
  • Dizziness rolling over in bed or looking up
  • Nausea during episodes
  • Unsteadiness or loss of balance
  • Brief episodes triggered by position changes

Common causes

  • BPPV — loose crystals in the inner ear canals
  • Vestibular neuritis or labyrinthitis (inner-ear inflammation)
  • Concussion or head injury
  • Ménière's disease
  • Neck-related (cervicogenic) dizziness

How we treat it

Our approach at Mvmt Theory

Assessment includes positional testing to identify the cause. For BPPV, repositioning maneuvers such as the Epley maneuver often resolve symptoms in a small number of sessions. For other causes, a structured vestibular rehab program — gaze stabilization, habituation, and balance retraining — helps your system recalibrate. If your presentation suggests a medical cause that needs a physician's input, we'll tell you directly and help you get there.

This page is general information, not a diagnosis. A one-on-one assessment is the right way to find out what's going on with your body.
